Galashiels Men's Shed at Langlee Community Centre is one of the first men's sheds in the Scottish Borders. Set up in January 2014 with help from staff at Volunteer Centre Borders, NHS Borders Healthy Living Network and Age Scotland. Welcome to Volunteer Centre Borders.
Established in 2005, our aims are to develop and promote volunteering for all, improve volunteering opportunities, remove barriers to participation and to monitor the success of volunteering for the Scottish Government. We work in partnership with many volunteer-involving organisations and projects, to promote good practice, recruit and place volunteers and to raise the awareness of the importance of volunteering. We are also active members of the Borders Third Sector Partnership along with The Bridge, Berwickshire Association for Voluntary Service and the Scottish Borders Social Enterprise Chamber. The Partnership provides a link between Scottish Government and Local Authority and represents the Third Sector on the Community Planning Partnership. The Partners aim to promote and support volunteering, social enterprise and the growing social economy, community development and third sector organisations.
